Park Theater

Its been a while since my last entry. I have been keeping another blog in Japanese on Mixi. Today is hot. It truly feels like summer now.

I took a walk to the nearby park during my lunch break today in the hopes of finding nice little spot in the shade. Unfortunately, all of the good well-shaded spots were taken by the homeless and drunks. I wound up sitting out in the sun in the near blistering heat.

Since I have dark complexion, people naturally assume that I am invincible to the sun’s rays. Unfortunately, that’s not the case, and as a matter of fact its quite the opposite. I burn fairly easily. This wasn’t always the case. When I was a kid, I remember being able to spend hours in the sun and at worse, I would just jet darker but never burn. But up until about 10 years, I have become quite vulnerable, so I have to wear sunscrean (SPF 20 or better) or I will burn, and I do mean skin pealing burn. So my lunch break was cut a bit short do to a lack of shade.

While I was in the park, I was able to see some what seemed to be a couple of theater students rehersing a musical. It immediately got my attention because I love theater. After a few minutes, I was able to figure out that they were doing “Alladin” by Disney. The two rehersing students were singing “A Whole New World”, but they weren’t too good. But I do envy their spirit.

This weekend I will be taking another business trip to the States. This is the third time to the States this year. I don’t mind the traveling, since everything is being paid by the company, but I wish that I either had more free time to do personal stuff, or at least go somewhere new.

Having said this, the boss hinted that there may be some trips around Asia (Korea to be specific) and maybe even a tour around the country starting from Hokkaido and ending somewhere in Kyushu this summer. That sounds really interesting, but he wasn’t specific as to whom will be going. I can only assume that it will be me because I am the most traveled so far in our group. But it could be anyone, I guess.

San Francisco…AGAIN??

Lately, my boss has been hinting that “someone” will need to go to San Francisco within the next few weeks to tie up some loose ends with our vendors out their. We all assumed that it would be him who would be going because its his job to put the pressure on the vendors when the are not performing up to spec. However, at last week’s meeting he mention that he won’t be going, which leaves either me or my colleague who went with me the last time, or the both of us, since we are the only ones who are proficient enough in English to do this job.

I don’t mind traveling. As a matter of fact, I love it. But having to go back to California for the third time this year, can take a toll on one’s stamina. But, if I do have to again, I hope its soon, and I will also piggy back some vacation time in so that I have some time to myself.
